Lessons in Diversity

This past week, our students, faculty, staff, and parents were treated to separate, thoughtful, and instructive presentations by Derrick Gay, educational consultant (derrickgayconsultant@gmail.com). He was so good. I know we'll be seeing more and more of him in our schools.

He concluded his talk with parents by showing the profound TED Talk by Chimamanda Adichie "The Danger of a Single Story."

Dane, I have watched this video so many times since it first came out. Whenever I need to reconnect myself with the work, Adichie does it for me. Perfectly worded and delivered. Thanks for reminding me.

Hello Dane,
I think it is awesome that you are so passionate about diversity. Diversity is a welcomed topic now days, however, it is something that must be learned. All behaviors are learned/taught and so is accepting others.
